There was a fire incident on Wednesday at the “E” arrival wing of the
Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, the Federal Airports
Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, said in a statement.
FAAN said the incident occurred at about 1:13 p.m.
“The
smoke was quickly traced to some offices at the E wing on the ground
floor of the terminal by a combined team of FAAN’s electrical engineers
and fire officers,” said Yakubu Dati, FAAN spokesman.
Dati said investigations has commenced to ascertain the cause of the fire.
“The
Authority wishes to assure the traveling public and other airport users
that there was no immediate danger to anyone as a result of the
incident neither did it affect flight operations at the terminal,” he
said.
