SUSPECTED CULTIST NABBED BY RRS IN LAGOS

As part of efforts by Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, to ensure the safety of lives and properties in the state and its environs, the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), of the state Police Command, has apprehended one Oworoba Abdul Kareem, 20, alleged to be a member of notorious gang, Eiye Confraternity, which had past threatening the peaceful atmosphere in Akala area in Mushin.

The police team swooped on the area following a distress call from members of public that some group of  cultists have started their rivalry clashes in the area on September, 10th, 2015 at about 02:15 pm, where the suspect was nabbed while others were still at large.
According to the Police report, “The suspect was apprehended when some group of men suspected to be cultists engaged themselves in a free for all fight and that in an attempt to make arrest, they started stoning the Police's vehicles and damaged the windscreens of the two patrol vans, before others ran helterskelter to escape".
The police investigation has revealed that the suspect was a member of Eiye Confraternity, one of the cult groups which are making lives difficult for residents of Mushin, Akala, Idioro and its environs  
In his reaction, Commander of Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Assistant Commissioner of Police, ACP Olatunji Disu, warned parents and guardians to be watchful of their wards and children's behaviours while at tender age as charity begins at home.
He added that residents should be courageous enough to report any suspicious movement and criminalities in their neighbourhood to the police, promising that the Police will act accordingly and timely. 
The Commander reiterated that Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Owoseni, has pledged to free the state from all forms of criminal and Cult activities.
The suspect has been transferred to Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) for further investigation.
Effort to reach Lagos Police Public Relations officer (PPRO), Amadi Patricia, to confirm the story proved abortive as her phone was switched off.
