Sunday Oliseh’s first competitive match in charge as coach of the Super Eagles failed to end in happy ending. The former Eagles captain could not inspire his side as they only managed a 0-0 draw against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam.
“We struggled in the first half. The second half we were a little better. But we lacked quality in certain areas,” Oliseh said.
Nigeria now top the group with four points from two matches but that could change when Egypt play at Chad on Sunday.
Egypt and Nigeria both won their opening qualifiers in June and meet each other in two successive matches next March.
