Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, a governorship aspirant on the platform of the
All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the September 10th Gubernatorial
election in Edo State expresses his condolences to the family of the
Benin monarch, the good people of Benin Kingdom and the entire people
of the state.
In a statement made available to news men at his campaign office,
Benin City, Engr. Ogiemwonyi said: "On behalf of myself and family, I
express my heartfelt condolences to the entire royal family of the
distinguished monarch, patriot and statesman, His Royal Majesty Omo
N’Oba N’Edo Uku Akpolokpolo, Oba Erediauwa of Benin Kingdom and also
commiserate with the people of Benin over the transition of our great
monarch to the world beyond.
“I will miss your wise counsel, generous disposition and expression of love.
"The absence of your physical presence is a great loss to the State
and the country at large and no doubt created a big vacuum that will
be difficult to fill in a hurry".
Speaking further, Engr. Ogiemwonyi extols the noble virtues of the
royal father, the role he played in the life of Benin Kingdom and enjoins
everyone to emulate him
"Your 37 years reign was monumental and peaceful and I pray you
reunite with your ancestors and that the Almighty God grants every
member of the royal family and the entire Benin Kingdom the wisdom to
sustain your worthy legacies," Engr. Ogiemwonyi said.
