In the rarified air of broadcasting, Femi Sowoolu, a.k.a. FM , needs no introduction, having put in close to forty years into the profession.
Femi, who is of Egba stock, was bred in Ibadan, and his attachment to the city and its ethos are never in doubt.
So, having traversed the broadcasting landscape in three states and multiple stations, whether state or privately owned, no one knows the business of FM radio like FM.
So, like most people with the vision and the mission, Femi took his desire to redefine broadcasting back to where it all began, and Jamz 100.1FM was born.
Perched on the Lagelu hill just beyond the Lagelu Estate gate in Felele, the Urban/Top40/ Contemporary radio station is the latest addition to the fastest growing radio market in the country, and based on Femi's antecedent, set to be the most professionally managed of them all.
And since only the deep can call to the deep, yours truly was invited to blaze the trail as the first guest analyst during their test transmission phase, in preparation for full rollout in the nearest future.
So while I congratulate FM in advance for a successful venture, I also congratulate the radio aficionados in Greater Ibadan area for the arrival of akehindegbengbon, Jamz 100.1 FM, real radio, real people.
My Ten Kobo.
