Odesanya, Rivers Police Commissioner, Dies In India

Francis Odesanya, Rivers state commissioner of police, lost his life at Sterling Hospital Ahmedabad-Gujarat, India, on Tuesday morning.
Ibrahim Idris, inspector-general of police, confirmed his demise in a statement.
Idris expressed regrets over the development, disclosing that the deceased passed on at the age of 56 years.
Omoni Nnamdi, spokesman of the state police command, had earlier told TheCable that he was not aware of the incident.
Odesanya, the 37th police commissioner in Rivers, succeeded Foluso Adebanjo in July 2016.
He joined the police as a cadet assistant superintendent in February 1986.
He had served as deputy commissioner of police, department of operations and that of finance and administration, in Rivers.
Odesanya hailed from Ikenne in Ogun state.
