The police in Asaba, Delta State, have arrested a 26-year-old businessman, identified as John (surname withheld) who lives in Ochele-Umuezei Quarters, for allegedly breaking into one Mrs. Mary Okoh’s apartment in the same area.

Eye witness said that the 26 -year -old businessman allegedly broke into the victim’s house at about 4:15am with the aid of sledge hammer and forcibly collected her mobile phone, including her native wallet popularly called ‘mama’s; adding that when he made an attempt to escape, the victim raised the alarm.
It was reliably gathered that the alarm drew the attention of neighbours and as the suspect noticed the quick response of neighbours, he made further attempt to run away. But it was too late as the youths in the area went after him and held him down.
But the police public relations officer in the state, DSP Celestina Kalu, who confirmed the arrest of the suspect, said that as at the time the youth tried to retrieve the money and phone belonging to the woman from him, about six other phones and assorted recharge cards were discovered in his possession.
