NELLY AGWU - THE AJEBUTTER WHO BECAME STREET SAVVY

To write about my sister, Nelly Agwu, the sexiest grandma this side of paradise, is to pen a true story Hollywood script.

Imagine a silver spoon, a dye in the wool AJEBO, who, thirty years ago was driving the latest Mercedes Benz VBoot, coming from the serenity of Gbagada or one of those old school estates, to mingle with us poor folks from Oshodi, Mushin et al at LASU to start a student's union revolution that led to the infamous anti SAP riots that drove IBB out of Lagos.
Not only was she with us in the trenches, she was also the Vice President of the Students Union! Leading from the front, inspiring, articulating, trying very hard not to appear too sexy, and failing.
So on Sunday, Thirty years to the day of our matriculation, we all got together at the Psychiatrist hospital, Yaba left to you, to reminiscence and talk about old times, and once again, The Nelly was there, not looking a day older, still leading, still cheering, still so sexy.
It is true what they say, class is permanent.
