Ogun Introduces Computer Based Test for Promotion of Teachers

The Ogun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has introduced Computer Based Test (CBT), for teachers, who will be sitting for the 2016 promotion examination.
This is to ensure their proficiency in Information Communication Technology as well as promote efficiency in the conduct of the examination.
Chairman of the commission, Chief (Mrs.) Olabosipo Ogunsan, disclosed this when she met with principals and Agricultural Science teachers from the three Senatorial Districts of the State at the Rev. Kuti  Memorial Grammar School, Abeokuta.
She explained that the measure was necessary to improve teachers knowledge on ICT and promote due process in their upgrading.
Ogunsan stated that officers between grade levels 06 to 10 will be subjected to the CBT, while officers on grade levels 12 and above will, undergo the usual written examination.
The TESCOM chairman said that the initiative was aimed at moving the commission from the existing manual processes of conducting examinations and also ensure prompt delivery of results, adding that the commission is planning to introduce training exercise for N-teachers across the state.
She advised agric teachers in public schools to cultivate subsistence farms within school premises, so as to inculcate the practical methods of farming in the students, towards acquiring the necessary knowledge in the subject.
Responding on behalf of the Agric teachers, Mr. Fadipe Olusola of Salawu Abiola Comprehensive High School, Abeokuta, promised to ensure that students are engaged more in agricultural practice through demonstration farms available in their respective schools.
