MY TEN KOBO ; ALARA, AJERO AND THE ORAGUN

At the Palace of the Owa Ajero of Ijero, Oba Joseph Adebayo Adewale, JP.
The Ajero is one of the three sons of Oduduwa from the same mother, Iwa, the other sons are the Alara and the Oragun Ila. 

The three brothers were so vast in the knowledge of the Ifa Corpus that they became equivalent of Professors of Of Divinity.
They were also the first set of Oduduwa sons to branch out and found new towns.
The three brothers then divided the Yoruba Country into three, becoming equivalent of patron saints for this divisions.
Alara, the dispenser of wealth, and patron saint of commerce, protects the southern flank, now Lagos and Ogun states. Ajero, the patron saint of knowledge, protects the eastern flank, now Ondo, Ekiti and Yoruba speaking parts of Kogi states, and Oragun, the patron saint of Politics and diplomacy, protects the northern flank, now Oyo, Osun and Kwara states.
It is incontestable the historical importance of the trio and that of their descendants , and they represent the spirit of our nationality, which is based on the Ifa corpus and the Omoluabi mantra.
