Stephen Keshi has claimed that there is a gang-up against him, which is aimed at ensuring he does not succeed as coach of the Super Eagles.
The African champions are currently in danger of missing out of next year’s Africa Cup of Nations, after picking up just one point from their first three qualifying games.
Nigeria was beaten 1-0 by Sudan in Khartoum last weekend and must exact
revenge on Wednesday, when both teams play the reverse fixture in Abuja
or it could be all over.
“There is a sabotage by some people, who I won’t mention their names but who know themselves. They want to run this team down,” africanFootball.com quoted Keshi as saying on Monday.
“Some people are ready to sell this country for a dime. They want to sabotage the Super Eagles.
“It’s a shame. They don’t want this team to get to the AFCON, they want this team to lose outright. But they are not God.
“And this is not Keshi’s team. This is a national team. Keshi is a professional coach and after this (assignment), he will get another job elsewhere.”
