A 47-year-old man was killed on Saturday by a hit and run motorcyclist at Hotel Bus Stop, along Igando-Iyana Iba area of Lagos State.
The deceased, simply identified as Arthur, was said to have died the day after the accident.
Eyewitnesses said that the deceased was dead drunk when he was hit.
The deceased had gone out on Saturday afternoon
to mark the Sallah festival with his Muslim friends in Igando area of
the state and was returning home when he met his untimely death.
The deceased, a contractor with an Aluminium firm, went out with a friend, also simply identified as Charles.
Arthur was knocked down by the motorcyclist around Hotel Bus Stop at about 8pm.
He was said to have been abandoned at the spot all night without any medical attention till the following morning.
When Arthur did not return home, friends
and family members became worried, leading to Charles retracing his
steps to where they went to celebrate Sallah.
Charles found Arthur and rushed him to a private hospital at Car wash Bus Stop, Idimu, Lagos where he eventually died.
It was learnt that the case was reported to
the Idimu Police Station and Charles was said to have been arrested and
interrogated by the police.
