PROMISADOR QUILT AWARDS HOLDS MAY 22

The 2015 Promasidor Quill Awards will hold on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Sheraton Hotel and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos.
 
Winners of the different categories of the Awards, which are in their third phase, will be unveiled at the event.
 
The categories include: Brand Advocate of the Year; CSR and Industry Report of the Year; Best Photo Story of the Year; Best Report on Nutrition; Best Report on Children; Best Report on Education; and Future Writer of the Year.
 
According to the Head, Legal/Public Relations of Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Mr. Andrew Enahoro, while the winners of the different categories will be rewarded with work tools, the overall winner will be sponsored to attend a course at the Thomson Foundation in the United Kingdom to further hone his/her journalistic skills.
 
He assured that Promasidor will not relent in contributing to development of journalism practice in Nigeria. His words: “Promasidor Quill Awards is committed to setting the pace in rewarding journalists based on merit for their work and not a self-seeking approach to get accolades, but a professional platform of assessment, recognition and reward for outstanding journalistic work”. 
 
Enahoro noted that the media is an important organ in the life of our society which plays a key role in checking the pulse of different issues. He said the role of journalists is often overlooked and taken for granted. Based on this, he said Promasidor’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy goes beyond merely giving back to the society. His words: “We focus our engagements in sustainable value creation by considering the dynamics of change in social trends, the environment, business ethics and find the optimal point where the interest of our various stakeholders assume an optimum balance”.
