Source Raw Materials Locally, Amosun Urges Industries

Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has charged industries operating in Ogun State to embrace backward integration of their processes and ensure that their inputs are sourced locally.
The Governor stated this, on Wednesday, while speaking at the official commissioning of the Ota Brewery Upgrade of the Nigerian Breweries Plc.
While speaking of the economics of scale that comes with backward integration, Governor Amosun assured of his administration’s continuous support for companies based in Ogun State.
The governor said his administration remains committed to providing a conducive environment for private sector investment.
“We have not only created a One-stop-shop where all enquiries on availability of land and processes are given, we have also removed the time lag of processing of papers on land matters.
“Apart from that, we are also investing heavily in infrastructure by redesigning our existing roads while constructing new ones, all in the bid to engender a conducive business climate for investors in our dear State,” Governor Amosun said.
He added that the result of such efforts is that, “As at the last count, over 100 companies have started their operations in our State, with investment worth over N200billion.”
Speaking earlier, Chief Kola Jamodu, Chairman of the board of Nigerian Breweries Plc commended the Governor Amosun-led administration for the transformation of Ogun State.
He added that, “the conducive environment created for businesses to thrive in Ogun State is such that I will readily give the administration an endorsement whenever and wherever I have the opportunity to so do.”
