ELECTIONS WOULD BE FREE AND FAIR - JEGA
The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Attahiru Jega, said on Wednesday that the commission would conduct free, fair and credible elections.
He also said the electoral body would meet the aspiration of Nigerians, who he said were clamouring for credible elections.
Jega spoke at a meeting he had with the 37 Resident Electoral Commissioners at the commission’s headquarters in Abuja.
The meeting was aimed to review preparations for the forthcoming election.
He added that the commission would examine the gaps and other things needed to be done in the next few weeks.
Jega said, “The commission is doing its best to ensure free fair and credible polls. We are going to conduct free, fair and credible elections.”
