More than 100 Boko Haram fighters were killed by the Cameroonian Army in an attempt by the militants to cross over to the country.
The Cameroonian government spokesman, Is...sa Tchiroma Bakary confirmed that the army dealt a massive blow to Boko Haram foot soldiers that have recently engaged the Nigerian Army in a battle to reclaim more territories in the North.
Though the report came up on the country’s local radio on Monday, the clashes took place in the north of the country two days earlier, Saturday.
According to the report, the insurgents fired two shells on Fotokol town in Cameroon’s north, on the border with Nigeria around 1:00 pm (1200 GMT) on Saturday.
Report says there were no casualties on the side of the Cameroonian soldiers, but the national army, it was stated, defended and attacked with mortar fire, firing at the units stationed by the Boko Haram terrorist group.
