Nigerian Tribune learnt on Tuesday that President Goodluck Jonathan had met with presidents of the three neighbouring countries of Chad, Cameroon and Niger, on ways they would help Nigeria to check the fleeing Boko ...Haram members.
This was as the Nigerian military was said to be ready to take the war to the doorsteps of the insurgents, in a bid to end the crises in the North-East once and for all.
A top security official told Nigerian Tribune that already, arrangement had been concluded, adding that some top government officials in Borno and politicians were being monitored closely and would soon be arrested and prosecuted.
According to him, many names had been forwarded to the security operatives on top government officials in Borno and politicians who, either directly or indirectly, were involved with assassinations of top politicians and businessmen, particularly in Borno State.
He said there were many top Boko Haram sect commanders in detention, many of whom, he said, were giving useful information on the activities of the sect in the state.
