POLL SHIFT; WE REMAIN FOCUSSED- AMBODE

The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, says the postponement of the elections will not reduce the determination of Lagosians to vote for him.

He added that rather, the development would boost the spirit of the party, supporters and residents of the state to effect a change at the national level, while voting for continuity in Lagos State.
Ambode, who spoke during the APC campaign rally in the Alimosho area of the state on Monday, said the postponement of the elections to March 28 and April 11 was an assurance that the APC would march to Aso Rock.
The APC governorship candidate added that the party would now intensify its house-to-house campaign to win more supporters for the party.
Ambode said, “They think they can take away our joy by postponing the elections, but they cannot change our destiny because we have resolved that we are going to change the centre. They change it to March, then we are marching to Aso Rock; we are going to intensify our house-to-house campaign to win the hearts of those who have not joined us.”
Also speaking, the state Governor, Babatunde Fashola, said President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democratic Party must be voted out in the general elections, adding that the President had consistently lied to Nigerians about issues affecting their lives.
He said, “President Jonathan promised Lagosians in 2011 to make electricity available to them, the President later lied in a programme on Cable News Network that the people of Lagos were enjoying constant electricity.”
He added that the kidnapped schoolgirls from a Chibok secondary school by the Boko Haram terrorists, had yet to be rescued almost a year after they were abducted.
An APC chieftain in Alimosho, Chief Ladi Oluwaloni, stated that the postponement of the election was like postponing the evil days of the PDP.
He said if the election was held in two years’ time, the APC would win with a landslide margin.
Also present at the rally were the state Deputy Governor, Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire; APC deputy governorship candidate, Dr. Oluranti Adebule; members of the Akinwunmi Ambode Kommittee of Friends; the Lagos West senatorial candidate, Solomon Adeola; and the state Commissioner for Information, Mr. Lateef Ibirogba, among others.
