AT LAST! PDP GIVES RIBADU A WAIVER

PDP logoAhead of its primaries for the October 11, 2014 governorship election in Adamawa State, the Peoples Democratic Party has granted waivers to some of the aspirants who just joined the fold of the party.
To be qualified to stand for election in the PDP, an aspirant must have spent about two years in the party.
However, the party also has the powers to grant waivers to new comers.
Those granted waivers on Friday to contest the primaries of the PDP for the emergence of the party’s candidate for the Adamawa State governorship election were a former Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, who was the presidential candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria in the 2011 election and a member of the All Progressives Congress until two weeks ago; a former Military Administrator of Lagos and Borno States, retired Brigadier General Buba Marwa, who was with the defunct Congress for Progressive Change; and the gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria for the 2011 election in Adamawa State, Markus Gundiri.
The National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Olisa Metuh, confirmed the development.
Metuh spoke with newsmen at the national headquarters of the party on Friday
