OPC HAS TAKEN A STAND ON THE ELECTIONS - GANI ADAMS

.
National Coordinator, Oodua People’s Congress, OPC, Otunba Gani Adams has endorsed the re-election of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Speaking with some journalists at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport on his way to Brazil, Gani Adams stated that, from the National Coordinating Council, the group has decided to inform their followers that they should vote for President Jonathan.
According to Gani Adams: “I am just trying to x-ray the outcome of the rallies; notwithstanding, we took time to study the situation of things and we took time to look at the capacity of the candidates involved. I won’t deceive you, from the National Coordinating Council, we’ve decided to inform our followers that they should vote for President Jonathan.”
He added that President Goodluck Jonathan has done well for the people of the South West geo political zone, contrary to the campaigns from the All Progressive Congress, APC.
Gani explained that the Jonathan led administration actually meant well for the zone.
The National Coordinator of OPC cited three major things he said Jonathan did for the zone, which a Yoruba in the person of the former President Olusegun Obasanjo could not do for the zone when he was in power.
“The Yoruba nation has benefitted a lot, but I have to make it clear here that I’m not the spokesman of President Jonathan. However, let me tell you three things that he has done for the Yoruba nation; I’m one of the cultural promoters in this country and one of our festivals, Olokun is held in Badagry yearly, the seaport President Jonathan is bringing to Badagry will be the best seaport in Nigeria. Also, h is proposing the Free-trade-zone and another seaport in Lekki, all in Lagos”, he said.
He took a swipe at the APC, especially for what he described as disrespect to President Jonathan, saying: “You can’t say because you have a President in place who is not from your zone, you now want to continue to discredit the President and continue to cause crisis in your zone so that you can win an election. You won’t tell us that it is until you get to power that you will solve the problem of your zone.
“Buhari may not be a corrupt man, but he’s surrounded with people with integrity problem. What about Dr. Bukola Saraki, Governor Rotimi Amaechi, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and their eight years in the saddle? We all know the worth of Tinubu as a governor for two terms. Rivers state is not working. All what they have there in the state is media hype. With the kind of allocation being given to Amaechi, Port Harcourt should have been a mini-London,’’ he stressed.
