EKITI SPEAKER RAISES ALARM OVER DEATH THREAT.

The Speaker of Ekiti State House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, has raised the alarm over alleged plan by Governor Ayodele Fayose to set thugs after the All Progressives Congress lawmakers all over the state for humiliation.

The Speaker also alleged plan by the governor to hire people to send threat message to him in the name of the lawmakers to enable him rope in the members of Ekiti House of Assembly for arrest.
Omirin said in statement by his Special Adviser‎ on Media, Wole Olujobi, that intelligence report suggested that government-backed hoodlums have been sent to the streets to look out for lawmakers for attacks.
"Part of the game-plan is to smash the Toyota Camry cars officially allocated to the members, which members are paying for from deductions in their salaries. In cases where practicable, the cars are to be forcefully snatched from the lawmakers and then create a robbery scenario," the Speaker said.
Omirin said the governor was trying to re-enact a recent scenario where a member of PDP who  the governor robbed of primary victory, Cyril Fasuyi, was framed up for sending threat message to the governor to create condition for his arrest.
He‎ added that the governor is daily creating conditions for insecurity for criminals to thrive in their activities.
His words: "He has reduced security vote to security agents thereby making it almost impossible for security agents to perform their duties due to low morale among security agents and inability to maintain their equipment while doubling his personal security vote.
"If we observe very well, Ekiti people will note that all the check-points manned by the Army have been deserted because the governor has refused to fund their activities. That is why in the last one and half months, criminal activities, including jail break, had taken place in Ekiti State while Ado-Ekiti streets no longer enjoy light‎ at nights because the governor has refused to release money for fuel," Omirin explained, stressing that the governor should be held responsible if anything happened to any of the lawmakers.
