No fewer than 11 persons, including a 10 females and one male, were
killed in a multiple automobile accident that occurred on Thursday
evening at Ahor village, located along the eastern bye-pass express road
in Benin.
The accident involved a Man Diesel Tanker with
registration number NGN 40 XA and a Toyota Hiace marked No AA400 XA,
belonging to Libra Motors.
It was gathered that the commercial
bus carrying 16 passengers, 3 males and 13 females, had a head on
collision with the trailer after it made a u-turn to avoid running into a
blockade set-up by armed robbers.
Edo State Sector Commander of
the Federal Road Safety Corps, Oluwasusi Faliloli, who confirmed the
incident, said corpses of the victims have been deposited at an
undisclosed mortuary.
